Meath were well beaten by hosts Tipperary in the NFL Div 2 at Semple Stadium today.

The hosts were ahead by 0-7 to 0-4 at the interval and were boosted by a second-half goal from a penalty.

Meath only showed glimpses of any real positive form in the opening 35 minutes and could be further adrift against a stronger team.

The introduction of Shane O'Rourke was a boost to Meath for the remainder of the campaign, but this was a poor display by the Royal County.

Tipperary won Div 3 of the NFL last year and this can only be described as a poor result for Meath who will face Laois next Saturday night at Pairc Tailteann.
