Mixed luck for Meath teams today with the hurlers winning and the students from St Pat's losing.

Meath hurlers beat Mayo in the NHL Div 3A by 2-18 to 1-12 after leading by 2-7 to 0-4 at the interval at Pairc Tailteann.

In the All-Ireland Colleges' SFC semi-final at Nenagh, St Patrick's CS, Navan were beaten by St Brendan's, Killarney.

St Brendan's were ahead by 2-5 to 0-3 at the interval and won by 3-7 to 0-10.

Can anyone explain why Meath's National League matches at home are all on Saturday nights when there seems no reason why they can't be on Sunday. The last two home games on Sat nights had brilliant Sunday weather following that would have been ideal for the games.
