Donegal 1-12 Meath 0-10

Meath's slim hopes of NFL Div promotion were dealt a fatal blow at Ballybofey on Saturday evening as hosts Donegal took advantage of their numerical superiority to coast to victory.

Meath were slow from the traps and trailed by 0-0 to 0-4 and 0-1 to 0-5 in the early stages.

Matters got worse when substitute Peadar Byrne was sent-off for a second yellow card, but Meath produced their best spell subsequently and were level 0-6 each at the break.

After the resumption Eamonn O'Brien's side squandered a number of chances.

Meath's hopes were further blunted when Brian Meade received a straight red card with 11 minutes remaining.
