The weather struck a major blow with widespread heavy snow on Saturday night forcing the postponement of all but four of the scheduled matches listed for today.

Rock Celtic, one of only two MDL sides left in the Leinster Junior Cup, managed to beat the weather and make further progress in remarkable fashion at home to AUL Premier B side Valley Park United from Finglas.

Rock won 9-2 with goals from David Ward (three), Chris Connolly (two), Derek Delaney, Paul Gore, Damien English and Paddy Quinn for a place in the last 16 in which they will face a tough assignment away to Trinity Corinthians.

Skryne-Tara had to rely on a Mark Jordan penalty for a share of the spoils away to improving Longwood in Div 1.

Trim Celtic looked set to be heading for further Challenge Cup progress away to Albion Rovers on Thursday evening where they were leading by a goal 10 minutes into the second-half.

Following a delay as a result of an injury to an Albion player the referee decided not to continue with proceedings claiming the pitch was not in a fit state at that point.
