Tullamore outfit CK United will be hoping to pull off a surprise victory against Mullingar Athletic in the Combined Counties Cup final on Saturday.
CK have already performed an act of giant-killing in the semi-finals of this season's Counties Cup, defeating Willow Park at the semi-final stage. Willow have since gone to clinch a sixth consecutive CCFL Senior Division title (the top flight of the Combined Counties Football League).
Somewhat ironically, the venue for Saturday's final is Willow Park and kick-off at the Athlone venue is 5pm.
Mullingar Athletic finished as runners-up in this year's Senior Division, pushing eventual champions Willow all the way. CK operated in the Premier Division - one division lower than Athletic - this season and they won that title.
Mullingar will be without two key players, Enda Morris and Adrian O'Reilly, in the final due to suspension. By contrast, CK Utd will be boosted by the return of Paul Kinnarney from his honeymoon.
CK Utd won the Counties Cup in 2004 but the Offaly side was defeated in the 2007 (Clara) and 2008 (Melville) finals. Athletic won the coveted trophy in 2011.
