Offaly will face trip to dungarvan

OFFALY have been drawn against Waterford in Round 1A of the All-Ireland Football Qualifiers.

The draw for Round 1A and Round 1B of the Qualifiers was made this morning (Thursday), and Waterford will have home advantage for the game, which will take place in Dungarvan on Saturday, June 20. Also in Round 1A, London will host Cavan at Ruislip, while Glennon Brothers Pearse Park will stage the meeting of Longford and Carlow.

While the London v Cavan and Waterford v Offaly ties will both throw in at 2pm, the Longford v Carlow game will start at the later time of 7pm.

Earlier in the year, Pat Flanagan’s Offaly enjoyed a seven-point victory against Waterford in Division 4 of the National Football League. Offaly went on to achieve promotion to ensure Division 3 football next year.

Details for the remaining Round 1A game, between the loser of Kildare/Laois v Antrim, will be confirmed following the outcome of the Kildare/Laois replay. The qualifier game will take place in either Newbridge or Portlaoise.

The Round 1B games will be played on Saturday, June 27 at times to be confirmed. Tyrone will host Limerick in Healy Park, while Louth will take on Leitrim in Drogheda. The losers of Armagh/Donegal v losers of Meath/Wicklow will play at either the Athletic Grounds or Ballybofey, while the losers of Wexford/Westmeath v Down will meet in either Innovate Wexford Park or Cusack Park.
