MDL Soccer results

The long drawn out Challenge Cup second round tie involving Trim Town and Navan Town was finally resolved at the fourth attempt to stage the fixture.

Initially a home fixture for Trim Town, was previously reversed to Navan's ground, and finally back to Trim on this occasion, where Navan Town eventually came through on a 2-0 score line. It was a memorable day for their striker Adrian Dowdall. Having given his side the lead in the 38th minute, he failed to convert a penalty midway through the second-half, and following sustained Trim pressure in search of an equaliser, Dowdall eventually eased the nerves of his team mates when he struck a well-taken goal in the 88th minute to send his side into the third round, and a tricky assignment at home to Kentstown Rovers.
