Parish to benefit from collaborative choir concert

Jorat Gospel perform in Tullamore on Wednesday.

The parish of Tullamore is to benefit from a unique concert taking place this week.

The concert, scheduled for Wednesday, May 16, will involve both the Tullamore Gospel Choir and Jorat Gospel from Lausanne in Switzerland.

All parishioners have been encouraged to attend the concert, which will cost just €5 to enter.

Jorat Gospel was founded in 2008. Next week marks their first visit to Tullamore, and is part of a weeklong trip to Ireland for the choir.

One of the group's 26 members is Irish woman Eleanore Hickey who was born in Co. Mayo. The choir sings under the direction of Hermann Niklaus.

The concert will take place next Wednesday Church of the Assumption Next Wednesday's at 8pm. Tickets can be purchased on the door.
