Castlepalooza line-up announced

Dan Croll, Gilles Peterson, Gruff Rhys and We Cut Corners are four of the acts announced as part of the line-up for the ninth Castlepalooza music and arts festival, which is set to take place at Charleville Castle just outside Tullamore at the beginning of August.

In addition to a stellar line-up, this year’s festival will also include Homebeat, a new product aiming to champion Irish music and creativity, and SharkAShack, which will offer all night beats from Ireland’s top DJs.

Organisers have announced that the Eat My Shorts shortfilm showcase will return to the festival again this year, as will workshops involving all types of dance.

The Castlepalooza line-up so far is: Acrobat, Adultrock, Affleck, Alias Empire, Andrew Weatherall, Arman Giorgio, Big Dish Go, Blades Club, Bufallo Sunn, Cave Ghosts, Codes, Conor Linnie, Cove, Daithi, Dan Croll, Diosco Na Mbo, Dogs, Double Agent 7, dRea, Dublin Afrobeat Ensemble, Elaine Mai, ElectroBank, Enemies, Fox Jaw, Funeral Suits, Ghost Estates, Gilles Peterson, Gruff Rhys, Hauer, Heroes in Hiding, Hurdles, JB The DeeJay, Kammerpop, King Kong Company, Land Lovers, Little Xs for Eyes, Liza Flume, Meltybrains?, Miss Kate, Moscow Metro, MR Whippy, Norman Jay, O Emperor, Otherkin, Overhead The Albatross, Replete, RIS, Rocher, Samuel Vas-y, Ships, Sisters, Sleep Mc Evox, Sleep Thieves, Slow Place Like Home, Sounds Of System Breakdown, Squareyes, Summer Camp, The Clameens, The Daily Howl, The Hard Ground, The Pale, The Young Folk, TR One, Tu Ki, Tvvins, Vann Music, We Cut Corners and We Were Evergreen.

Castlepalooza has partnered this year with Vodafone, 2FM, Alex and Ani, Kopparberg, Erdinger, AerTV, Budvar, Aer Lingus, Shark and Metro Herald. The festival supports the Charleville Castle restoration project, with a portion of each ticket sold going towards the ongoing work being carried out on the historic landmark.
