Lowry appearing on Ireland AM to promote Children's Health Foundation

Shane Lowry is one of a host of leading sports figures appearing on Ireland AM this week to raise funds for the Children's Health Foundation.

Speaking this week Shane says that he is looking forward to his appearance on the show tomorrow, Thursday, morning.

“As an ambassador for Temple Street, I’m delighted to be involved and help raise awareness about the vital, life-saving work that happens every single day across Children’s Health Ireland. That last few years have been tough on everyone, especially the patients and staff in CHI, so it’s fantastic that we can do something to bring everyone together so close to Christmas and raise vital funds that will make a big difference to the lives of sick children.”

Co-presenter of Ireland AM, Tommy Bowe said:

“I am delighted to be involved again in this year’s Children’s Health Ireland appeal on Ireland AM. Last Christmas, I got to meet the little patients, their parents and the amazing frontline workers in Temple Street Hospital who are working so hard to make Christmas magical for sick Children who can’t be home at this time of year.  As a parent, it’s always heartening to see the generosity of our viewers, I know the funds donated by our viewers are used in such an important way.”

The breakfast show is also set to help raise awareness by supporting a fundraising appeal for Children’s Health Foundation, supporting our children’s hospitals and urgent care centre in Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly. They will also be joined by frontline workers from Children’s Health Ireland during the week to speak about the hospitals and what they do to support children from all over the country.

To add to the week, Ireland AM will help launch a raffle starting tomorrow morning at 10am until 9am on Thursday 23rd December where the winner will receive Olympic Gold Medalist, Kellie Harrington’s boxing gloves with all proceeds going to support the patients, families and staff across the hospitals.

Children’s Health Foundation is the new name for CMRF Crumlin and Temple Street Foundation which came together to form one united foundation supporting all CHI sites in Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly to ensure every sick child has the very best chance. The Foundation’s aim this Christmas is to raise vital funds to help sick kids get back to being kids.
