Sunny spells to break through as day goes on

This morning any mist or fog patches will clear and, other than some well scattered outbreaks of light rain or drizzle, it will be a mostly dry and cloudy start. Some sunny spells will break through as the day goes on. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in a light southerly or variable breeze.

Tonight will be mainly dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Patchy mist and fog will form in light southwest breezes along with some frost in places as lowest temperatures dip to between -1 and 4 degrees.

Any mist or fog will lift early on Wednesday leaving a mostly dry morning with a mix of cloud and some brighter spells. Outbreaks of rain will develop in the northwest during the afternoon, gradually extending southeastwards during the evening. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with southwest winds gradually increasing moderate to fresh.

On Wednesday night outbreaks of rain will continue to sink southwards over the country during the night, with drier and clearer conditions following from the north. Remaining fairly mild too with lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees. Moderate southwesterly winds will veer westerly and ease overnight.

Any remaining patchy light rain will clear east on Thursday morning with drier and bright conditions extending countrywide by afternoon, with some nice spells of sunshine developing. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees as mostly moderate westerly winds veer northwesterly.

Mainly dry and chilly on Thursday night with some clear spells. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees in light variable winds with frost and fog developing.

Cloud will increase on Friday morning with outbreaks of light rain or drizzle, most frequent in the west. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in light to moderate south to southwest winds.

Outbreaks of rain will continue overnight on Friday with the heaviest and most frequent falls in the west of the country. It will becoming milder overnight with lowest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees in moderate to occasionally fresh southwest winds.

Saturday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heaviest and most frequent in the north and west. After a very mild start with highest temperatures of 8 to 14 degrees it will becoming cooler as the day progresses in moderate to fresh southwest winds.

A bit of uncertainty for Sunday with the potential for a period of wet and blustery conditions. After a mostly cloudy start a band of wet and windy weather will sweep across the country during the afternoon, with the heaviest rainfall over the north of the country. Highs of 9 to 12 degree in fresh and gusty westerly winds.
