First Offaly Jobs Fair to promote 500 jobs

The first ever Offaly Jobs Fair will take place this summer with 500 jobs on offer in various sectors.

Over 50 high-quality recruiters and companies will be on hand to speak to jobseekers.

Jobseekers will have the opportunity to meet recruiters from a range of sectors such as manufacturing, construction, hospitality and engineering at the Tullamore Court Hotel on Saturday, July 2.

Tullamore Chamber President, Anthony Hanniffy says they're hoping it's going to be a major success. "We were chatting to members of the Chamber in Tullamore and one of the issues they have is sourcing staff so we decided to hold a jobs fair."

There will also be representatives from the Laois and Offaly ETB to discuss apprenticeships and representatives from remote working hubs in the region.

The Offaly Job Fair will be held on Saturday, July 2 from 10am to 6pm and will feature hundreds of active job opportunities right across the county.

The launch of the new job fair took place on Thursday, May 19 at the site of the new Zoetis facility in Srah IDA Business and Technology Park, Tullamore. Zoetis, one of the world’s leading animal health companies, is expanding its manufacturing and development facility in Tullamore and are one of the many companies in Offaly currently recruiting.

The new initiative has been launched by the Tullamore Chamber of Commerce along with the Offaly ETB, Offaly Local Development Company, the Local Enterprise Office and Offaly County Council.
