Tullamore Harriers confirms details for 2023 half marathon

Tullamore Harriers AC has announced the date for its half marathon in 2023, and confirmed that Bord na Mona will again be the event's headline sponsor.

The Bord na Mona Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon will take place on Saturday, August 26 and entry is now open for the event.

The club has encouraged people to sign up for this top class race without delay.

"This event is classed as one of the best half marathons in the country, offering so much for runners of every standard from first timers to the highly competitive athlete," said a spokesperson for Tullamore Harriers.

"Last year’s race attracted hundreds of runners from all over the country as well as a large turnout of spectators. We were delighted with the huge level of positive feedback from participants who were highly complementary of the friendly environment, carnival atmosphere and the quality of the facilities available on the day.

"This race is ideally suited to anyone training for the Dublin City Marathon or simply wanting to go the distance over 13.1 miles."

The Bord na Mona Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon hosts the Offaly and Leinster Half Marathon Championships, so there are plenty of individual and team medals up for grabs. The prestigious Quinlan Cup will be awarded to the winning men's team and the Phyllis Delaney Cup to the winning ladies' team.

The club revealed that the race will start from the Tullamore Harriers Stadium at 10am on August 26 and will take in a scenic route through Mucklagh, Killurin and Cloonagh, before finishing with a lap of the stadium track.

The course is described as "generally flat" and "undulating with some gently rolling hills along the way".
