Mucklagh pupils to compete for FAI Schools national title

An opportunity to represent their primary school at the home of Irish football awaits the pupils of Scoil Colmáin Naofa, Mucklagh, on Tuesday, June 9, when they contest the FAI Schools Primary 5s National Finals Day.

The Offaly school will represent Leinster in the Girl's 'B' Cup - medium schools competition - on the hallowed Aviva Stadium sod in their quest to achieve national honours.

In total 47,760 children from 1,961 schools have participated in what is Ireland’s biggest grassroots programme.

However, only seven schools will be crowned champions of their respective category, on a huge day for grassroots football in Ireland.

The categories include the A, B and C Cup for girls and boys who are currently in fourth, fifth and sixth class and also the Football for All Cup, meaning it will be an exciting day full of matches in the home of Irish football.

A total of 12 counties will be represented across the competition on National Finals Day in the Dublin stadium.

The 2026 Girl's 'B' Cup - medium schools - finalists are Scoil Colmáin Naofa, Mucklagh, Offaly (Leinster), Breaffy NS, Mayo (Connacht), Piltown NS, Waterford (Munster), Raphoe Central NS, Donegal (Ulster).
