Clara Musical Society announce details of September show

Clara Musical Society has confirmed that it will stage two productions during its 2026/27 season, the first of which will be the multi-award winning 'Dear Evan Hansen'.

The musical will be staged at Esker Arts Centre, Tullamore from September 19-22 an the Society are currently seeking expressions of interest from those who wish to audition for a role in the show.

Dear Evan Hansen is a coming-of-age musical about a lonely, socially anxious high schooler who fabricates a friendship with a deceased classmate to feel a sense of belonging. What starts as a misguided attempt to comfort a grieving family spirals into a massive, fabricated viral movement.

On its social media channels, Clara Musical Society said 'Dear Evan Hansen' presents a "unique opportunity to be part of an intimate and powerful production, with a cast of just eight performers and no ensemble".

"As places are limited, competition is expected to be high. However, if you're not cast in Dear Evan Hansen, there will be another opportunity to get involved when Clara Musical Society stages a larger ensemble musical in April 2027".

All expression of interest forms must be returned to Clara Musical Society by Friday, June 12, at 9pm.
