Brady and Dooley scoop player of the year awards
Clara football captain Scott Brady and Tullamore hurling counterpart Shane Dooley have been named as the Offaly Senior Players of the Year. The pair will be honoured at the Offaly GAA/Bridge House Hotel annual awards night on Friday, January 8, after skippering their respective clubs to senior championship glory this year. It promises to be a great night for the Brady family as Scott's younger brother Ross will pick up the Under-21 Footballer of the Year award. Dooley's first cousin and Shinrone player Michael Cleary is the Junior Hurler of the Year. Clara, who shocked Rhode in the SFC final, have been named as Offaly Club of the Year. Meanwhile, Sean Foran of Edenderry and Andy Gallagher (Tullamore) have been chosen to receive the Hall of Fame awards in football and hurling respectively. Medals will also be presented on the awards night to the Offaly panel which won the National Hurling League Division 2 title in 2009.
