Book early for Birr Golf Club Annual Captain's Dinner
Birr Golf Club Captains' Dinner Members please take note that the Annual Dinner in honour of our Captains Tom and Mary will take place on Sat. 28 Nov. at 7 pm. It is advisable to book early as this is always a most enjoyable night in the Club. This year's music is provided by Paddy Buckley and his band. Tickets are available from the office and from any member of the House Committee. All welcome. Open 3-Ball Competition An open 3-ball competition is up and running until April 2010. The response has been very encouraging with a great turn-out over the past two weeks. The competition will be over 18 holes with the best two scores to count at each hole. The teams are composed of any combination ladies/gents and the competition is sponsored by Michael Horan of oran ofBirr Golf Shop and Driving Range, Callaway and Trackman. Three teams will qualify each month with the Grand Final in May 2010. Play will be from Monday to Saturday with the handicap limits of men/20 and ladies/30. Entry is €10 for members and €20 for visitors. This will be an exciting competition over the winter and spring and no doubt will prove attractive to all golfers. Membership Membership of the Glenns is now open for the 2010 season. Now is the time to apply and join a friendly and active club with a wide range of facilities.
