Olivia Douglas with her Irish Post award for Best Country Video for 'Leaving Tipperary,' which she won recently

Olivia hits the road with Nathan

We’re not sure what country star Olivia Douglas wrote in her letter to Santa last year (or this year, in fact, if she got it off early!), but if she’s anything like most other artists in Ireland, then it might be a safe guess to say a chance to tour with Nathan Carter was somewhere on the list! Nathan, after all, is one of the biggest names on the road right now.

Well, whether Santa had anything to do with it or not, we’re not in a position to confirm. But we do know that the man himself is a fan of ‘the flower of Ferbane’, and that’s why Olivia will be hitting the road with Nathan for his Christmas Tour this year. And not alone that, but the ‘I’m Off To Lisdoonvarna In The Morning’ singer will be off to Spain with Nathan next October as she joins the line-up for his Carter On The Costa party!

Writing in his Sunday World column this weekend, Nathan revealed how much Olivia impressed him when she performed at this year’s Carter On The Costa trip, saying, “Olivia has a great country voice and a lovely personality that endears her to all the fans. As well as being a great singer, Olivia is also a very accomplished accordion player and an all-round superb entertainer. She had the crowd up on their feet shouting for more at the end of her set.”

High praise, indeed! And Olivia herself is excited about joining Nathan on tour, too.

“I’ve been very lucky to have an amazing year so far, between having a few #1s, launching my new album, playing C2C in the 3 Arena, the Irish Post award, and the Hot Country award, and so much more as well, it’s just been fantastic.

"And I really want to thank the fans who have made all of that possible with their support. I say it a lot, but it really means the world to me. And now, to get to round out a year like this in the company of Nathan and his band and his team, and playing at these shows, I can’t wait for it, to be honest with you. I’m delighted to be involved, and really looking forward to meeting all the fans who come along.”
