Festive Lottery win in Tullamore

One of the longest-established shops in Tullamore, Dolan's Gala on the Clara Road, is celebrating this week having sold the €250,000 winning ticket in the National Lottery Christmas Millionaire raffle draw.

The winning ticket, which was the second biggest in the Christmas Lottery Draw, has the serial number: 417104, and the lucky winner in understood to have collected their bumper cheque at National Lottery headquarters this afternoon (Thursday).

A total of 5,567 players won prizes of between €500 and €1 million in the Christmas raffle, with the top prize of €1 million going to one lucky Wexford player.

Dolan's Gala was established in the 1960s by Brendan Dolan, and his late wife, Bridie, and is currently run by their sons, Pat and Brian.

While the identity of the lucky €250,000 winner had not been revealed, there is plenty of speculation in Tullamore, and it is hoped that one of Dolan's regular local customers may have got their New Year off to a winning start by claiming the quarter of a million euro prize.
