Santa to visit Birr Scouts Log Cabin

Comments (0) | Print | Email

Santa Claus is to pay a very special visit to meet the members of Birr Scouts and Cubs. He will be arriving on at the Log Cabin on Sunday, December 20, around 2.30pm, but as usual, this will depend on weather conditions from the North Pole. Santa was very sad to hear about the damage to the Log Cabin and is really looking forward to seeing the newly refurbished Cabin.

He is really impressed with all the hard work the adults have done to make sure it is all spick and span for his visit this year. Everyone at Birr Scouts would like to express their thanks to all who have helped in fundraising for the repair to the Log Cabin. The kindness and generosity shown by local businesses and the local people was exceptional and is gratefully appreciated by everyone concerned, not least of all by the boys and girls who still have their very special Log Cabin back for their use again.

All the leaders and the Parents Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who attended the recent AGM.

The great turnout is appreciated by the leaders and the outgoing committee who were delighted to see so many new faces.

The leaders and the committee would also like to take this opportunity to wish all the Venture Scouts, Scouts, Cub Scouts and their families a very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year

Mount Melleray

Conference

The Scout Patrol Leaders and Venture Scouts attended the Scouting conference in Mount Melleray Scout Centre last weekend from Friday, 4th December until Sunday 6th December.

During their stay they took part in forums, challenges and had a talk on the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden during the summer of 2011.

Loads of information to pass onto their fellow scouts on Wednesday night and, of course, something to look forward to in 2011!
