Student raise the second green flag at Cappagh NS

Cappagh NS raise second green flag

There was excitement in the air last Wednesday, as children at Cappagh NS raised the school's second Green Flag. The primary school earned its first flag for waste management. This time a flag was awarded for energy management and thanks were given to Veronica Lynam who worked hard to explain energy to the students and help them to think green. Thanks was also extended to student Yvonne McDonald and her sub committee of Cara Todd, Katie Rabbitte, Conor Dunne, Cillian O'Brien, Paul Scally and Alan Black, which dealt with the admin part of the second green flag project. Cappagh's second green flag was collected in Athlone by four children from the sub committee and Cillian O'Brian and Eoin Merriman had the honour of raising the flag on the school ground. Pupils at Cappagh NS are now working on their third green flag.
