"A Grand Experience" released on DVD

Following the success of the RTE scerening of "A Grand Experience" the film by Mixed Bag Media that was commissioned by Offaly County Council has been released on DVD. It's estimated an audience of 565,000 viewers nationally saw the screening of the local project. A DVD of the programme can now be ordered or downloaded from www.mixedbagmedia.com. It's also available at a number of local outlets. "A Grand Experience" features writer Eugene O'Brien, musician Wayne Brennan and photographer Veronica Nicholson aboard the 68M barge. Arts officer Sinead O'Reilly said the decision to make the documentary available on DVD was made following numerous email and phone requests from people looking for a copy, particularly to send to family abroad. "Together with Mixed Bag Media we have produced a limited edition of 500 copies," she said. "It is not our intention to make a profit, but any proceeds will go back into creatively promoting the Grand Canal in Offaly nationally." "A Grand Experience" can be bought for €13 from McGreals in Edenderry, Scully's and Quinn's Centra in Daingean, McIntyre's in Shannon Harbour, Traxs in the Bridge Centre in Tullamore and also at Offaly County Council, as well as at www.mixedbagmedia.com.
