Busy golf classic held by Chamber
Tullamore and District Chamber of Commerce held another successful and enjoyable golf classic in Esker Hills recently. Over 30 teams representing a variety of local businesses competed in the golf classic. Tony McCormack, President of Tullamore Chamber commented : "It was wonderful to see so many local businesses participate in this year's event as it was not only a great event, it was also a valuable and unique business networking opportunity for all those involved. It is an important event for Tullamore Chamber and the support of the local business community and our sponsors is gratefully acknowledged." Gerry Buckley, Chair of the Tullamore Chamber Golf Classic committee also commented : "This year's event at Esker Hills was a great success and it provided an opportunity for all those participating to play golf in an exceptional course." The results of the Golf Classic are as follows: 1st Jim Smyth, John O'Donovan, Mark Monagle, Finian Lynch - Points - 94 2nd - Nis - Points - 94 3rd - Molloy Precast - Points - 93 The Longest Drive was won by Alan Lowry. Closest Pin was won by Marie Daly. The raffle was won by Joe Stewart - 2 Premier Tickets to first game in Aviva Stadium sponsored by John Daly Plumbing. The golf classic is a key fund-raising event for Tullamore Chamber of Commerce for its work in lobbying, supporting and representing the interests of business in Tullamore.
