Investigation into Birr shooting continues

Gardaí in Birr are still waiting to talk to the Polish man who was shot in the town at around midnight last Sunday.
The man, who is in his 20s, was rushed to the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore after he received gunshot wounds to his leg and is still undergoing treatment for his injuries.
It is believed that he was shot by an elderly man who feared that his house on Wood Row, off Mill Street, was about to be burgled.
There have been no arrests made in the case. The incident has shocked locals.
Gardaí are still looking to speak to anyone with any information and are appealing for them to come forward and contact Birr Garda Station on 057 9120016.
