Wind and rain to ease this afternoon

Anyone looking to dry clothes would do well to look toward the tumble dryer, at least until this afternoon. According to Met Eireann forecaster Harm Luijkx rain that began to develop last night (Thursday) will turn heavy early today before clearing by mid-afternoon. Mr Luijkx said strong south-easterly winds in the early part of the day should also ease by afternoon, leading to a dry afternoon and evening. Tonight is also expected to be dry, as well as quite cold. In what's sure to be a relief to motorists however widespread frost is not expected in the area. Saturday is to be a bright day with sunshine, some cloud and perhaps a few misty showers. Saturday night is to pass without severe frost, while Sunday is to feature sunshine, some cloud and some showers.
