Hackett’s Bookmakers in Tullamore is to be re-branded as Paddy Power early in 2014 following its sale along with eight other Hackett’s Bookmakers around the country.
Paddy Power confirmed today (Tuesday) it has bought nine outlets from Hackett’s Bookmakers - four in Dublin, two in Limerick and one each in Tullamore, Templemore and Clonmel.
The sale will see Paddy Power expand its estate of shops in the Republic of Ireland from 223 to 232.
Earlier this year the company unveiled a new look for shops, incorporating a range of betting technology including a premium audio-visual experience, enhanced racing content and mobile tablets. The new design is also to be rolled out in the chain’s new stores.
A spokesperson for Paddy Power said the company is happy with the deal.
“We are delighted that, as we celebrate 25 years in business, we are continuing to add new shops to our estate and to bring the Paddy Power value and customer experience to more punters across Ireland,” he said.
