Two more arrested as part of midlands crime investigations

Gardai from Tullamore yesterday (Wednesday) arrested two males as part of ongoing investigations into organised crime in the midlands.

A man in his early 20s was arrested in the Clara area of Offaly yesterday afternoon, and a male, also in his early 20s, was arrested in the Dublin area last night.

A car was also seized as part of the Dublin arrest.

Both are currently detained under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 in garda stations at Birr and Tullamore.

A male in his 20s arrested on Friday, February 14 after planned searches in houres in Clara and Tullamore remains in custody in Portlaoise garda station under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Two females arrested on the same day were released without charge on Tuesday, February 18.
