Three appear before court in relation to Edenderry burglaries

Three men have appeared in court in connection with recent burglaries in Edenderry.

Gardai in Edenderry investigating a number of burglaries that resulted in criminal damage in excess of €300,000 caused and property, including jewellery, of €30,000 taken in Edenderry during April and May arrested three males aged 16, 17 and 19.

The three were conveyed to Tullamore garda station, where they were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. All three were charged in connection with a number of burglaries and appeared before court number two at the Criminal Courts of Justice at Parkgate Street in Dublin at 10.30am yesterday (Sunday).

The two juveniles were released on bail to Tullamore District Court on Wednesday next, May 21. The 19-year-old man was remanded in custody to the Criminal Courts of Justice on Thursday, May 22.

This brings to six the number of people from the Edenderry area who have been charged and brought before the courts during the last week. The other three are all males, with two aged 17 and one aged 21.
