Shinrone mother describes funfair ride nightmare

The two women and four children were stuck on the funfair ride for almost two hours.

A Shinrone mother this week told of how her daughter asked her “Mammy are we going to die?” when the two of them and four others became stranded 50ft in the air atop a chair-o-plane amusement ride in Tramore earlier this week.

Amanda Brewer, her daughter Aleesha (8) and step-daughter Alisha (11) and neighbour Ann Hoctor and her daughters Leah (11) and Shannon (14), became stuck on Tuesday when the ride came to a stop in the air.

“It was the most scared I’ve been in my life,” Amanda admitted to the Offaly Independent after the incident.
