5 parking spaces to be turned into Eddie Rocket's seating

Five public parking spaces at O'Connor Square in Tullamore are to be temporarily handed over to new fast food outlet Eddie Rocket's for use as a seating area.

The news was revealed at the latest Tullamore municipal district meeting.

Director of Services Declan Kirrane said the experiment might get locals thinking about how better to use some of Tullamore's public spaces.

Speaking to the Offaly Independent Fine Gael councillor Tommy McKeigue said the council will lose money as a result of being down five parking spaces, and that a financial arrangement will have to be agreed if the temporary plan works out.
