Man remains at Tullamore garda station following earlier gun incident

A 37-year-old man remains detained at Tullamore garda station this afternoon, after being arrested this morning when he entered a building holding a gun.

According to gardai the incident happened at approximately 8.30am this morning.

It's understood the building the man entered was Millennium House, on Tullamore's Main Street.

Staff members were in the building at the time, but nobody was injured in the incident.

The man was arrested and can be detained for up to 72 hours under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
