Sun on the way, but not until next week

Sun lovers will have to hold out until after the weekend for more good weather.

Met Eireann’s John Eagleton has forecast disappointing weather over the weekend, but a “great day” on Monday and Tuesday next with temperatures expected to reach up to 25 degrees Celsius.

A band of heavy, thundery rain moved up from the south last night. Today (Friday) the weather is expected to brighten as the day goes on, but showers are to be expected throughout the day nonetheless.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring slightly cooler temperatures, and while the weather is expected to improve through the day today, the opposite is expected tomorrow.

A cloudier day than today, Saturday may even bring some thundery rain according to Mr Eagleton.

Sunday’s weather will be “ok” he predicted, but the weekend weather will be nothing compared to what’s expected in the early days of next week.

Monday is expected to be dry and sunny, with temperatures of about 24 or 25 degrees Celsius, while similar is expected on Tuesday.
