Rath native dies in Ferbane farm accident

Liam Lyons

The community of Rath is in mourning today, following the death of five-year-old Liam Lyons in a farm accident yesterday (Monday).

It’s understood the tragedy occurred at approximately 2pm yesterday on a relative’s farm in Ferbane, while crops were being harvested.

Garda and the Health and Safety Authority have launched separate investigations into the death.

The tragedy happened just three days after three-year-old Fionn Mulhall died in a farm accident in the yard of his family’s farm in Cork.
