Ferbane farm accident claims life of 5-year-old boy

A farm accident in Ferbane has claimed the life of a five-year-old boy.

The tragic accident took place yesterday (Monday), as crops were being cut on a farm belonging to relatives of little Liam Lyons from Rath in south Offaly.

It's understood the tragedy occurred at approximately 2pm yesterday.

Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority have launched separate investigations into the death.

The tragedy happened just three days after three-year-old Fionn Mulhall died in a farm accident in the yard of his family’s farm in Cork
