Competition: Calling all kids to Lough Boora Battle of Giants

Battle of Giants at Lough Boora on Sunday August 24th from 12- 5pm

Children across Offaly and beyond are been called upon to take part in one of the most exciting family events of the summer in Lough Boora Discovery Park, Co. Offaly on Sunday August 24th from 12-5pm.

Irish legend tells the story of Fionn Mac Cumhaill and Scottish giant, Angus once taking part in a fierce battle. This August, the legendary giants will meet again and battle it out on the spectacular grounds of Lough Boora as part of Heritage Week. Battle of Giants kicks off from 12- 5pm, two battles are planned on the day as well as exciting and interactive workshops where children will be invited to make (and take home) their very own shield and axe before going into battle!

There is no admission charge, however attendees will be asked to donate to Barretstown children’s charity throughout the day. We’re teaming up with Lough Boora Discovery Park to invite the children of Offaly to play a special part in this year’s event by entering our colouring competition. All entries will be in with a chance of winning a Lough Boora Day Out pack with all the essentials for the perfect family day out.

Entrants are asked to bring their entries along to Lough Boora Discovery Park on the day where entries will be displayed and judged. There will be a clearly signposted area for dropping off entries on the day.
