Special heritage event in lough boora
Travel back in time tomorrow and explore Bord na Móna’s Lough Boora Discovery Park as it celebrates 75 years of Industrial Heritage this National Heritage Week.
With a special commemorative event taking place, Bord na Móna is inviting families (of all ages), vintage machinery enthusiasts and historians, to join them for a spectacular Lough Boora Discover Park Family Fun Day.
Come along to Lough Boora Discovery Park, and celebrate, share and enjoy 75 years of Industrial Heritage with family fun packed day with entertainment for all the family, food stalls filled with mouth-watering local produce, vintage carousels and an iconic Punch and Judy show. A roller bug race for the younger kids is also scheduled for what promises to be a jolly day out!
A toy tractor peddle race is also scheduled and a vintage toy car race, ideal for boys who love their cars. Visitors to Lough Boora Discovery Park will also get the opportunity to become familiar with historical Bord na Móna machinery from eras past with a displace of the Bord na Móna Heartland Expo looking back and celebrating over 75 years of history in the local community.
A bouncy-castle, kids’ carnival, a vintage-themed best dressed competition, face painting, kids’ entertainers, and a Tug-O-War for the older kids is also planned for the day.
