Kinnitty accident victim named locally

A 23-year-old man who died in a road accident over the weekend in Offaly has been named locally today.

Johnathon Richard Egan from Tinnahinch, Rosenallis in Laois, lost his life after his jeep left the road at Clonlee, Kinnitty at 2.30am on Sunday morning.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. His body was later removed to the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore where a post mortem is due to take place.

Mr Egan is deeply regretted by his parents Sean and Anne, sisters Catriona and Sarah, his girlfriend Ciara, godchild Harrison, uncles and aunts, neighbours, relatives and many friends. Funeral details have yet to be announced.

The road was closed for a time afterwards as Garda Forensic Collision investigators examined the crash scene.
