A yellow weather warning from Met Éireann for high temperatures of 30 degrees is in place.

Heatwave set to continue in Offaly

Temperatures will continue to remain high in Offaly over the coming days, without hitting the heights of recent days.

Today, Friday, will, according to Met Eireann, be another hot, sunny day nationally with temperatures generally 24 to 28 degrees celsius, but over 30 degrees, in places, once again in parts of Munster and Connacht.

The southern part of Offaly is likely to experience the best temperatures, with highs of 30 degrees celsius in Birr in late afternoon.

Met Eireann is forecasting that Saturday will also be a dry and mostly sunny day with temperatures once again as high as 30 degrees across the midwest and west of the country.

There'll be highest of between 24-27 degrees celsius in Offaly, with the south of the county again experiencing the highest temperatures.

The national weather forecaster says there remains some uncertainty as to conditions on Sunday. However, it believes temperatures will generally range from the low to the high 20s across the country.

The further outlook for the early days of next week is for continuing warm weather with hazy sunshine, although not quite as hot as recent times.

There may be scattered showers from Sunday night and during parts of Monday and Tuesday.
