Midland hotels join forces to promote golf packages
Ten midland hoteliers who are part of the Heart of Ireland Golf promotional group launched their 2008 golf packages at a function in the Mount Temple Golf and Country Club in Westmeath on Wednesday last. The hotels operating under the Heart of Ireland Golf brand feature golfing options at eight midland golf clubs, four from Offaly, Birr, Castle Barna, Esker Hills, and Tullamore to offer the best of midland golf at very attractive prices. The function was attended by representatives of the midland?s tourist industry led by Kevin Kidney, CEO Failte Ireland Midlands East.
Mr Kidney said he was delighted to launch and wish the group well with its 2008 programme. “Failte Ireland proactively supports groups like Heart of Ireland Golf which draw the various strands of a tourism product into a common purpose, in this case, the joint hotel and golf club promotion of golf tourism to the midlands. The increasingly competitive market environment requires an input of efficient and innovative measures by our relatively small sized producers through cooperative market activities. I am happy to see the Heart of Ireland Golf provide this platform for golf in the midlands and wish all involved every success”.
The chairman of the Heart of Ireland Golf Group Michael Dolan said the publication of the Heart of Ireland Hotel Golf brochures was one aspect of a range of promotional advertising , print and press relations work undertaken by the group.
“The hotel brochures however are highly reflective of our ?joined up? approach where the success of the group?s10 hotel sales operatives will generate business for the Heart of Ireland golf clubs and equally, the success of the golf clubs will produce business for the hotels. It?s a ?win win? situation and we anticipate the benefits for all will be clearly evident in the season ahead.
“Critical to our success is our own self belief in the quality of our product, its convenient access through the country?s rapidly expanding motorway system, and its value for money,” he said. Mr. Dolan gratefully acknowledged the ongoing financial and practical assistance the group receives from Failte Ireland Midlands and East.
