Hannon and Hanlon get medals in Juniors

Fearghus Hannon, Darragh Hanlon and Joe Mulligan represented Tullamore Harriers at the National Juniors in Nenagh. Fearghus got the day underway when he won his heat in the 60m, he went on to finish 5th in the final in a time of 7.30.  Meanwhile Darragh and Joe took part in the 35lb weight for distance. Darragh took the silver medal with a throw of 7.73 and Joe got 4th place with a throw of 6.66.  Fearghus then ran in the heat of the 200m which he won in a new PB of 22.84. He went on to better this in the final where he won the gold medal in a new PB of 22.82, his first National Junior medal. In the shot putt Darragh threw a new PB of 11.96 with the 6kg shot to take 4th place.    AAI Games There were four representatives from Tullamore Harriers at the AAI Indoor Games in Nenagh on Sunday. Eoin Hannon finished 5th in the 60m heat in 7.37,  he went on to finish 2nd in the next round in a time of 7.28. Ger Hensey, making a comback after injury, was well pleased with his run in the 60m where he ran a time of 7.50. Paddy O Flaherty opened his season  running 7.84 in the 60m and going on to run 25.96 in the 200m. Ray Delany ran 7.89 in the 60m and then went on to run a new indoor PB of 25.55 in the 200m. Well done to all the athletes at the weekend. Raheny 5 Miles Liz Cuskelly competed in the 25th Running of the Raheny Shamrocks 5 mile road race. In a huge field of over 2000 runners, Liz ran very well to finish in eight place in the womens race and second over 35. Liz finished in a time of 29.31. Ciaran McGovern finished 5th in the over 60 category in atime of 34.52. Also running was Tony McCormack who completed the course in 36.14. February 7th and 8th AAI Senior Indoor Championships in Belfast. February 15th. National Masters and Intermediate Cross Country championships in Tymon Park, Dublin. March 1st. AAI. National Senior and Junior Cross Country Championships in Santry, Dublin. Training: Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm, Sunday morning at 8.30am (except on a Race day). New members always welcome. On these dark evenings, it is important that all members wear reflective clothing when running on the roads. Membership is now due and costs €35 for the year
