Flannery brings his own luck to Fergie"s

Friday the 13 may be unlucky for some, but not for fans of Ireland"s new shining light, singer songwriter Mick Flannery. After playing a sell out show last October in Fergie"s Bar, Tullamore, Mick Flannery will once again return tonight (Friday March 13) and if you don"t have a ticket, then you better try and get one fast. Support on the night will be provided by local original talent Wayne Brennan who"s been well received around the Midlands and also singer Catherine Farrell. Since he began his national tour, Mick Flannery has been raved about with increasing praise and slight hysteria. Granted, he is a talented singer songwriter, and his lyrics do strike a chord with many, but unlike many others before him, the industry hacks also seem to like him and believe he has a general talent. He was shortlisted for the "Choice Award" and is also nominated for "Best Irish Male" at The Meteors taking place on St Patrick"s Day. Since the release of his second album "White Lies" last August, Mick has toured the country to packed venues while captivating us with his finely crafted lyrics and pulsating melodies. He moves from piano to guitar mesmerising his audience with songs of love lost and life experiences gained. The harmonious voice of Yvonne Daly gives an angelic dimension while Karen O"Doherty"s haunting violin gives one a sense of uncontrollable pining. Not forgetting Brian Hasset (bass), Christian Best (drums) and Hugh Dillion (guitar) who maintain a constant style all of their own. Mick has already started on his third album and is expected to take America by storm next autumn. So don"t miss him, before he goes global. Doors open at 9pm and admission is €20. Any last minute tickets should be available from Fergie"s Market Square or through Paddy Paradise on 086 1783621.
