Clara GAA Notes

Training for ALL adult players takes place at Pairc Proinsias on Wednesday and Friday evenings at 7.30. Adult hurling training takes place at the same time and venue on Thursday evenings. All players are asked to attend. Jerseys Club jerseys are available from Kellys Sportswear Clara and from committee member. Membership is now due for 2009, Life Member €250, Adult players €50, Students €25, Non-playing members €20, Senior Citizens €10, Underage Membership €20, Registration of life members €2. The club would particularly ask former players and lapsed members to rejoin the club this year. Membership is payable to registrar or any member of the committee. Lotto - Winning numbers this week were 5, 9, 21, 25. There was no match four winner. There were two match three winners: Ger White c/o Des Dunne who each win €75. Next week"s draw is in Docs and the jackpot is €5,750. Senior Citizens Passes Application forms for passes are available from committee members, the cost is €5 and the pass is valid for life. Hurling Championship Clara intermediates take on Crinkle in Moystown at 7.30 on Thursday and in Junior B Kinnity provide the opposition in Clara at 7.30 on June 30th. Race Night A fund raising Race Night takes place in Baggots Back Door on Friday July 3rd. Horses are going for a song only €20 and can bought from any committee member or Pat Flanagan and William Flynn and their respective panel members. Joe Quinn All in the club are happy and relived to hear of Joe"s progress and wish him a speedy recovery and hope to have him back in a club jersey before too long. Feile 2009 A very enjoyable and successful weekend for all involved in this year"s Feile. Clara won two and drew one of their group games and were beaten in a playoff by Padraig Pearses from Roscommon, our visitors for the weekend, who were unlucky to lose in the final by a single point. Well done to both teams. Bord na nOg wish to thank all who helped over the weekend, particularly the host families for their hospitality and also the ladies who provided refreshments an Pairc Brid with Catherine Cushens buns being a particular favourite. Thanks also go to the Club committee for all their help and Des Dunne in particular for the excellent condition of the pitch.
