Young writers take to the stage

A Christmas Open Mike special takes place in Birr Library this Saturday December 11. For the last three months young writers from Offaly have been attending creative writing workshops in Birr Library, funded by Offaly County Council and run by novelist Caroline Barry. On Saturday, these young writers will give their first public reading. Their work will be published on the Birr Library website and recorded for podcast. The Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council Cllr Barry Cowen along with the Arts and Library Services of Offaly County Council have invited the public to attend the event, which takes place in the library from 11.30am-12.45pm. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to hear the work of emerging talented writers from Offaly. Tea and coffee will be served on the morning.
