Youth Conference for St. Mary's Youth Centre This conference is organised by young people for young people. The date for your diary is Saturday March 5 and the venue is St Mary's Youth and Community Centre. Three interesting talks will be a vibrant part of the busy schedule for this event. A talk by Bishop Donal McKeon on the subject of 'My Space/God's Space' will be of interest to many in the current age of space age communication facilities. Another interesting scheduled talk will be given by Ronan Scully on the subject of 'Worldwide Unity at International level'. And a third talk on the subject of '522 friends on Facebook and no one to talk to' by Andrew Malley and Sean Dench should be of interest to many young people. Women's World day of prayer This year's service will be in the Presbyterian Church, High Street, Tullamore on Friday March 4, and will commence at 8pm. This service is written by the women of Chile with the theme "How many loaves have you". Offaly Dyslexia group Offaly Branch of DAI are currently running workshops for children with Dyslexia on Mondays from 5-7 pm in St Mary's Youth Centre, our waiting list is now open for September workshops however there are limited spaces available. Also run workshops for teenagers on Monday nights - this is geared towards helping teenagers with dyslexia with exam preparation and study skills etc for further information contact 086 2309009. Glenroe's Biddy to opens exhibition Today, Friday, March 4, Biddy from Glenroe or Mary McEvoy will be in Tullamore. She'll officially open an art exhibition at 4.30pm in Aras an Chontae. This exhibition features the work of Edenderry artist Willie Redmond, whose passion for landscapes and waterways will be evident. The exhibition will continue until April 1. National Irish Safety Organisation The National Irish Safety Organisation with the Northern Ireland Safety Group will be testing both your knowledge on safety and your general knowledge at their forthcoming table quiz. The All Ireland final will be taking place in Galway on the 16th April Tullamore Lions Tullamore Lions Club are organising a programme to promote Suicide Awareness. The leaders of this pilgrimage are Mary and Terry Fenlon and the junior leaders are James Moloughney accompanied by Fr Hugh Lee. The reason this foundation are looking for your old phones is that parts of them are used to fund projects to help children in the developing world. Living Links Suicide Support Midlands Living Link are providing practical help and advice and support to persons bereaved by suicide. In the Midlands region, a number of trained individuals are available to offer confidential, practical support and information to families who have experienced death by suicide. The suicide outreach support person at the request of the family can call to the home, or meet at a location appointed by the family.
