Funding inadequate for Edenderry streets - Bourke

Edenderry councillor Noel Bourke has branded "totally inadequate" the funding allocated for works on Edenderry road surfaces this year. "While some funding has been allocated this year it is totally inadequate for what needs to be done and I have asked the council to seek additional funding when money is next being allocated," he said this week. Cllr Bourke said roads that need attention include JKL Street, Fr Kearns Street and the Carrick Road, and he would like to see them attended to as soon as possible. He added there are also a number of areas including housing estates where footpaths are in need of reinstatement in the interests of safety. "I will continue to follow up these matters with the council," he concluded.
