Holiday breakfast habits revealed!

Almost half of Irish people feel you can't beat a full Irish breakfast on holidays, while over a third of Irish holidaymakers take breakfast ingredients including teabags, rashers, sausages, ketchup and bread on holidays with them. That's according to a recent survey by hotels.com with 2,400 travellers from 21 countries. Forth-nine percent of holidaymakers think a full Irish is the way to start the day when on leave. Buffet breakfasts are also a firm favourite, with one in four Irish holiday makers visiting the buffet table for as many servings as possible and 33% attempting to try out everything on offer. A less indulgent continental breakfast was ranked most popular by 24% of respondents, while just one in ten like to start a day of sightseeing with some fruit. A cost conscious 62% of Irish holidaymakers get up in time for breakfast everyday while on holidays, while 24% take a more relaxed approach and say that despite paying for hotel breakfasts they tend to sleep in and miss it. Almost half of respondents questioned admitted to taking food from breakfast to eat at lunchtime, with an enterprising 14% using their pockets as lunchboxes.
