Teen singing sensation's song now available on iTunes

Banagher teenager Mark Boylan, the boy behind two Internet hits that earned him trips to horse racing festivals, is this week an iTunes artist after his latest musical offering has been made available as a download with all proceeds going to charity. Fourteen-year-old Mark wrote his latest track "Stateside" in honour of the US Breeders' Cup. After putting the song on You Tube, where it came to the notice of organisers, an invite was issued to Mark and his family to sing the anthem at the championships on November 5. Now Mark has re-recorded "Stateside" in a professional recording studio, adding bass guitar and drums along with harmonies in the chorus. The high quality version of the tune has been made available online, where every $1.29 purchase will benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF) at Mark's request. The PDJF in the US is a charity that provides financial assistance to approximately 60 former jockeys who suffered catastrophic on-track injuries. Since its foundation in 2006 it has distributed over $3m. Executive Director of the fund Nancy LaSala thanked Mark for his generosity this week, saying he is "a young man to be admired for his commitment and for sharing his talent to assist others". "The men and women that the PDJF serves are appreciative of all involved in making 'Stateside' available to the public during the Breeders Cup World Championships," she said. Mark is now set to travel with his father, mother and younger sister to Kentucky next Monday, October 31, for a weeklong Breeders Cup experience sponsored by the Breeders Cup and MOC Insurance Services.
