Local A-Wear jobs to be unaffected by company sale

Local jobs are to be unaffected by the sale of fashion company A-Wear last week. The company, which has over 30 stores and supports approximately 460 jobs nationwide, was sold to a group of investors headed by British businessman Michael Flacks of Flacks Group last Friday. A receiver had been appointed to the clothing chain the previous night by former owners Hilco. A statement from the new owners at time of purchase said the chain of stores would continue to trade as usual, with workers' terms and conditions unchanged. Mr Flacks is said to be impressed by the brand's strength and its potential for future growth.
