Irish ladies flyfishing team visits Edenderry

The Irish Ladies Flyfishing Association (ILFA) recently visited Lough Aisling in Edenderry for a team training session. The aim of the session was to learn some of the techniques and tactics that will be needed when the team travels to Scotland to take part in the International Ladies Flyfishing Championships on the Lake of Menteith from May 21-24. The 2012 team will be captained by Julie Gerry who achieved that accolade by winning the 'Lady Angler of the Year' title and trophy for 2011. This trophy is presented to the outright winner of the League which the Irish Ladies Flyfishing Association runs each year in order to select their team. The rest of the team is: Hazel O'Gorman (Quin, Co Clare), Jenny Casey, (Clane, Co Kildare), Stephanie Troy, (Donabate, Co Dublin), Mary Murphy, (Millstreet, Co Cork), Niamh Breen, (Kenmare, Co Kerry), Linda Straghan, (Derryhennett, Co Armagh), Madeleine Kelly, (Hilltown, Co Down), Jean Johnston (Lisburn, Co Antrim) and Susan brown (Lisburn, Co Antrim).
