Appeal for information after Tullamore takeaway knifepoint robbery attempt

Gardaí are appealing for information from the public following a failed attempt to rob the Tasty Take Away on High Street in Tullamore at knife point in the early hours of last Sunday morning, July 29. According to Sgt Kavanagh of Tullamore garda station the attempt was made at approximately 12.40am on Saturday night by a male armed with a knife who had covered his face. No customers were present at the time of the attempt, however two ladies were working in the takeaway. A customer who then entered the premises startled the culprit according to Sgt Kavanagh. The culprit is then reported to have ran up High Street in the direction leading out of town. Sgt Kavanagh has asked anyone who saw someone running away or any suspicious activity around the time of the incident to contact Tullamore garda station on 057 9327052.
